MANDATORY CHANGES

● Large, scaly wings capable of flight Merlin's wings are pretty standard dragon wings. They're large, scaled, and have a light blue membrane. Despite how bulky they look, they fold up tightly enough against his body that they aren't too bothersome.

● Lizard-like claws in place of fingernails and toenails There's no mistaking Merlin's hands or feet for anything human. The lower half of his arms and legs are covered in soft grey, leathery scaling that make them look like talons. Even though he is based on more mammalian dragons, he does not have any toe beans.

● Sharp fangs instead of teeth Merlin has a maw filled with a set of sharp, carnivorous teeth. Obviously getting bit won't be very fun, but there are monsters with a much stronger bite than him.

● Scales on the upper arms, shoulders, and back The scales on Merlin's body come in a deep blue color and have an opalescent sheen to them in the right light. Shed scales make great jewelry if you're that kind of weirdo. The rest of Merlin's body is covered in a silky, snow white fur.

● Scaly, talon-like feet capable of grasping Although Merlin's feet look very paw-like, his toes can spread out easily and can carry a great amount of weight. Again, no toe beans, he is technically still a lizard.

● Excellent night vision and sharper eyesight The fog god probably gifted gargoyles with great eyesight for hunting, but Merlin abuses it for reading whenever he wants.

● An affinity for fire magic Probably Merlin's favorite thing about being a gargoyle. He can create fireballs with ease and fire them off much like he used to do with lightning, only now without the need for talismans. He can also breathe fire and heat up his body to the point it burns to the touch. Merlin's fire comes in an aesthetic blue flame and his body lights up in a similar color between the cracks of his scales whenever he uses his magic.

● Immunity to fire See, he didn't have immunity to lightning when he had that magic, so this is nice.

● Weakness to sunlight Being exposed to sunlight doesn't hurt Merlin, but it will turn him into stone. The stone he turns into isn't anything too fancy, but it sure does look nice. Although his stone form isn't uncomfortable, he still tries to avoid it on principle alone. For example, he'd much rather use blackout curtains and sleep in a curled up ball than in stone form. As you can imagine, this weakness makes him nocturnal.

● The need to feed on human flesh Like everyone else, Merlin has to eat a person at least once a month. He favors meat in general now, but nothing really compares to a tasty, tasty human. He tries very hard to munch on leftovers from his friends to limit his killing, so surely that will appease his hungry dragon brain.

OPTIONAL CHANGES

● Fog form TBD

● Travel form Merlin can turn into a tiny, lizard-size wingless dragon at will. This form is much faster and can even climb walls, but is much more vulnerable.

● Two horns on the head Merlin has two long, antler-like horns that curl at an angle. They do not shed.

● Scales on any other part of the body He is nothing but scales and fur, there isn't a spot of human skin left on him.

● Spikes on any part of their body There are three small spikes on the ends of both of Merlin's cheeks. It gives him just a hint of a bearded dragon look.

● Any number of dragon-like facial features The boy is just full furry. He has shiny yellow eyes with slit-like pupils, as well as a forked blue tongue that's a bit on the thick side. (Think Toothless.) Merlin is based on eastern dragons with a more mammalian look, so he has a small furred snout with a cute little pink nose. His ears are long and pointed, like a rabbit or a deer, and are capable of swiveling straight up when he's alert or surprised. They don't give him any extra hearing capabilities, but they sure are cute.

● A long, reptilian tail Merlin's tail is very long and very flexible, capable of bending and curling comfortably without injury. It's not prehensile, however, and he can't pick anything up with it. He CAN use it like a whip in combat and smack people pretty hard if he needs to. The tail ends with a big fluffy tip and he wears a golden pearl as an accessory. The pearl is not a part of his body, but it just feels nice.

● The ability to influence the actions of humans by giving them commands while making eye contact What is worse than a bossy prince? A bossy prince with the power to actually make people listen to him.

● A proud nature Although Merlin was already easily flattered and easily insulted, this has been ramped up to ridiculous levels. Call him cool or cute and you've easily won him over, but tease him lightly and he might get huffy or worse, become a wreck. He's sensitive, please be nice to him, etc.

● A hoarding instinct In Merlin's case, his hoard is usually his books, but he might favor books with shinier covers or pages. This instinct can also extend to his friends and he can become very jealous if he thinks his friends are favoring people he doesn't know very well. ...Wait, he was already doing that, too...
